Altar Server Protocols

1. All Servers will arrive at the Church 30mins before Mass is to begin. You will get dressed, pray the “ Altar Server Prayer” which will be posted. Assist the Priest or Deacon in Mass preparation.
2. Shoes will be all black. They can be any style ( boots, oxfords, tennis shoes) but, no insignias, all black.
3. Male and Female Servers will wear black slacks. (No Exceptions)
4. Excessive tardiness (always 10 to 15 minutes late) will cause you to be removed from the Schedule.
5. There may be times when prior commitments or emergencies cause a conflict with the Masses you are scheduled to serve at. GET A SUBSTITUTE!!! The Server Directory provides everyone’s E-Mail and phone numbers. This YOUR responsibility, not your Parents or mine. Miss a Mass you are scheduled for without finding a substitute will cause you to be removed from the Schedule. If you have an unsolvable conflict contact me directly. However, contact me only AFTER you have tried everyone else.
6. Serving Mass is a Privilege not a Right. By attending the training sessions and answering the call of the Holy Spirit and the Church, you are in a “Special” category. The Church, the Parish, the Priest and your fellow Servers are counting on you. Take this commitment seriously.
