Lenten Soup/Bread Meals

Join us for a Soup/Bread meal in the Parish Hall on Fridays during Lent following the Stations of the Cross at 6 pm. Call Lu Stitt at 634-8137 after 6:00 pm if you are bringing a pot of soup to share.

Lenten Regulations 2010

Weekdays of Lent:  There is no obligation to fast.  However, voluntary acts of self-denial are recommended.

Ash Wednesday and Good Friday:  These are days of Fast and Abstinence from meat.  There is a limit of one full meal on these days for all between the ages of 18 and 59 inclusive.

Days of Abstinence (All Fridays in Lent):  All who have reached their 14th year are bound to abstain totally from meat.

Easter Duty Obligation:  After they received their First Holy Communion, Catholics are bound by the obligation of receiving Holy Communion at least once a year.  This precept should be fulfilled during the Easter Season.  Catholics are also bound to confess serious (mortal) sins at least once a year, but this is not limited to the Lenten/Easter Season.

Comidas de Cuaresma de caldo/pan Acompáñenos para una cena de Sopa y Pan en el Salón Parroquial los viernes durante la Cuaresma después del Viacrucis a las 6 pm.  Llame al Lu Stitt al 634-8137 después de las 6:00 pm si va a traer una olla de sopa para compartir

Reglas Para La Cuaresma 2010

Días de la Semana:  No hay obligación de ayunar.  Sin embargo, es recomendado actos de abnegación voluntarios.

Miércoles de Ceniza y el Viernes Santo:  Estos son días de Ayuno y Abstinencia de comer carne. En estos días hay un limite de una comida entera para todos de edades de 18 años hasta 59 años inclusivo. Otras comidas deben ser ligeras.

Días de Abstinencia—(Todos los Vienernes de Cuaresma):  Todos que han llegado a la edad de 14 años son obligados en abstinencia total de comer carne.

Obligación de la Pascua:  Después de recibir la Primera Comunión, los Católicos son obligados a recibir Santa Comunión al menos una vez por año.  Este precepto debe ser cumplido durante la temporada de la Pascua de Resurrección.  Los Católicos también tienen la obligación de confesar pecados serios (mortales) al menos una vez por año, pero esto no esta limitado a la temporada de Cuaresma o la Pascua.
